SEA OF SHADOWS film screening, Jan 23rd 2020 at 7 pm.
I'm very excited to announce the kickoff of what I hope will be a monthly film series, focused on issues of endangered species, the climate crisis, and other related topics. On January 23rd, we'll be screening SEA OF SHADOWS, a 2019 National Geographic film follows a team of dedicated scientists, high-tech conservationists, investigative journalists and courageous undercover agents as well as the Mexican Navy as they put their lives on the line to save the last remaining vaquitas and bring the vicious international crime syndicate to justice.
The film is a documentary winner at the Sundance film festival https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiFjJCUd9ro. Leonardo DiCaprio was the Executive Producer. Rating is PG-13.
The screening will be held Thursday, January 23rd, 7 pm, at our soap factory, 6165 W. Clinton St. There is no charge, but you will need to RSVP so we can monitor the needed seats. You can rsvp at info@OurPlanetSoap.com, or call and leave a message at 208-841-4460. Hope to see you all then!
As a teaser, the February 20th film will be Born to Be Wild, featuring Dr. Birute Galdikas and her orangutans, and The Sheldrick Foundation and their elephant sanctuary in Africa. Narrated by Morgan Freeman, "Born to be Wild" transports moviegoers into the lush rainforests of Borneo with world-renowned primatologist Dr. Birute Galdikas, and across the rugged Kenyan Savannah with celebrated elephant rescuer Dame Daphne Sheldrick.
